Apricot x Plum hybrid SHLOR CIRAN

Interspecific hybrid of apricot and Siberian plum. Very valuable for its fruit quality, high frost resistance at the level of Siberian plums, excellent taste and very good resistance to fungal diseases.

Origin: Armenia, synonym Persian black
Vigour: moderate, canopy flat spherical, moderately dense
Blossom: mid-late, partially self-fertile. Blooming flowers are resistant to mild frost. Other stone fruits (apricot, Siberian plum or plum) are required for better pollination.
Fruit: fruit weight approx. 30 - 40 g, round to elliptical shape, velvety, dark purple peel. Suitable for fresh consumption as well as for processing.
Pulp: greenish-red to dark red of medium density and juiciness, clingstone. Stone medium-sized.
Taste: excellent sweet and sour with an apricot aroma
Harvest season: mid-late from July 20th to 30th
Yield: moderate, stable, the first fruits already bear in the 3rd - 4th year after planting
Disease resistance: good resistance against brown rot of stone fruit (Monilinia laxa), Stigmina carpophila (Clasterosporium carpophilum), bacterium (Pseudomonas syringae) and Leucostoma canker (Leucostoma cincta syn. Cytospora cincta)
Frost resistance: excellent
Usage: due to its adaptability, the variety is particularly suitable for gardeners and for areas where apricots cannot be grown due to spring frosts. Suitable for organic or no-spray culture.
