Sweet Cherry (Prunus avium) CELESTE®

An early-season large-fruited attractive variety from Canada interesting for self-pollination and fruit quality. Especially suitable for small gardens.

Crossing: Van X Newstar, released in 1990
Vigour: the tree grows compact but strong, upright, needs little space
Blossom: medium early, self-fertile
Fruit: the cherry is very large 10 - 11 g, heart-shaped, dark red, medium firm
Pulp: juicy with a small stone
Taste: excellent, very sweet, quite mild, and with a pleasant cherry aftertaste
Harvest season: mid June
Yield: high and regular, very early yield onset
Special notes: suitable for small gardens. Not very sensitive to transport damage, it is also suitable for storage in the refrigerator.
