Very early, late flowering Romanian apricot. Valuable for excellent taste, marketable fruit quality and resistance to fungal and viral diseases. The variety enables ecological cultivation without chemical sprays.
Crossing: B 12/6 x NJA13, breeder Dr. Viorica Balan. Released in 2002.
Vigour: weak
Blossom: early, flowers may be endangered by late spring frosts
Fruit: medium-sized, weight 60 to 65 g, fruit shape oval to oblong, color orange with red coloring on most of the fruit surface
Pulp: light orange, with good consistency, freestone
Taste: excellent balanced dessert taste with intense aroma
Harvest season: very early, first decade of June
Yield: high, regular, very early yield onset
Disease resistance: resistant to Sharka (PPV = Plum Pox Virus), Monilia (Monilinia laxa), shotgun disease (Stigmina carpophila syn. Clasterosporium carpophilum) and leucostoma cancer (Cytospora cincta)
Usage: universal, for fresh consumption and for industrial processing. Suitable for organic cultivation in intensive production plantations.
