Cornelian Cherry Dogwood (Cornus mas) BOLESTRASZYCKI

Polish large-fruited Cornelian cherry with delicious, sweet pear-shaped fruits and a high vitamin C content. Suitable for direct consumption and processing.

Origin: selected in the Arboretum Bolestraszyce
Vigour: moderately strong, upright growing variety with a typical conical crown
Blossom: self-fertile
Fruit: large, pear-shaped, weight about 3.3 g, length up to 3 cm. Sugar content: up to 14%, fruit acid content: only 2.8 %, vitamin C content: 60 mg per 100 g, pectins, anthocyanin colorants: 150 mg per 100 g, polyphenols: 440 mg per 100 g.
Harvest season: late August to early September, harvest time is long but changeable depending on the weather
Usage: the most universal variety, especially recommended as dessert fruit, for liqueurs, preserves and juice
Disease resistance: generally good resistance to fungal diseases and pests
