Large-fruited high-yielding black mulberry. Easy to care for, resistant to diseases and frost, compatible with urban climates. Thrives in any sunny to partially shaded, protected location on humus-rich, lime-rich soils. The fruits are unusually large, firm and remain undamaged for a few days after harvest.
Origin: Selection from the Eastern European frost-resistant varieties Morus nigra
Vigour: strong, upright. The leaves are large, broadly ovate, the canopy is dense, rounded. The tree grows to a height of 3 - 5 meters.
Blossom: the variety is self-fertile. Blooms profusely from May to June. Each shoot bears 3 to 5 berries.
Fruits: very large, cylindrical, deep purple-black, black when fully ripe. Berry weight 6 - 8 g, length 4.5 - 5 cm, width 1.5 cm. The fruits hold well on the tree, they do not fall off. Suitable for direct consumption, for freezing and for processing into liqueurs, jams, etc.
Pulp: juicy, dense, seedless, aromatic, juice dark purple juice
Taste: delicious, sweet with the aroma of blackcurrants and raspberries
Harvest season: the fruits ripen from the beginning of July over a period of more than 6 weeks
Yield: high, harvests are stable and regular. The first yield onset already with two-year-old plants.
Disease resistance: tree with good immunity, reliable resistance to diseases and pests, no chemical protection is required during vegetation
Frost resistance: withstands frost down to -20°C
