Pear (Pyrus communis) YABLUNIVSKA

Large-fruited winter pear with an attractive fruit appearance, excellent taste and resistance to disease and frost. Particularly suitable for home gardeners, as it reliably bears high-quality fruits even under extensive growing conditions. An unpretentious and adaptable variety.

Origin: Experimental fruit-growing station Transnistria, Ukraine, breeder V.I. Sajko, 1981
Crossing: Abbate Fetel x Doyenné du Comice
Vigour: strong, compact, canopy broad-pyramidal, moderately dense. The height of a mature tree is 3 - 3.5 m.
Blossom: the flowering period is medium early, the flowers and young fruits are reasonably resistant to late spring frosts. Cross-pollinate variety, for pollination needs another pear blooming at the same time.
Fruits: large, average weight 200 - 250 g, pear-shaped to broadly pear-shaped. Peel thin but firm, greenish-yellow in harwest maturity, light yellow with orange-red blush in consumption maturity. The fruits are suitable for long-term storage and tolerate transportation well.
Pulp: white to creamy white, firm, buttery, tender, moderately juicy
Taste: excellent sweet and sour, melting, highly valued
Harvest season: harwest maturity at the end of September, consumption maturity from late November to early December. Can be stored in the fridge until March.
Yield: high and regular even under poor growing conditions. Early yield onset, already in the 3rd - 4th year after planting.
Frost resistance: very good
Disease resistance: resistant to fire blight (Erwinia amylovora) and scab (Venturia pyrina), less sensitive to pear rust (Gymnosporangium sabinae). Suitable for organic or no-spray culture.
Frost resistance: high
